When Fred Beutler started Southern Plumbing as a small ‘backyard’ operation in Fyshwick in 1978, he didn’t expect the business would grow to the size it is today. Initially, Fred sold plumbing fittings and tapware – mostly to customers outside Canberra.
The business progressed steadily, moved to new premises, and began to really flourish during the construction of Australia’s new Parliament House in the 1980s. Our work as a plumbing supplier for the new Parliament sparked the growth of our business in Canberra and the surrounding area and cemented our customer base in all sections of its markets.
Forty-five years after it began, Southern Plumbing is now firmly established as the leading independent supplier of plumbing, irrigation, bathroom, kitchen and laundry products in the ACT, southern NSW and north-east Victoria. And we’re determined to stay at the pinnacle of our industry!
